I just played back the podcast from last night's NRA News. Some guy named Dave gave Cam a double ration of grief over the "sellout" (that NEVER was) of other gun groups by the NRA.

Let me be clear on this. I want my SECOND Amendment group to fight like demons for my SECOND Amendment rights and my FIRST Amendment group to do likewise. Asking either to go off on tangents merely dilutes their effectiveness which is WHY so many leftist blogs are fanning the anti-NRA tempest in a teapot.

Other groups combined lack the clout, numbers and money of the NRA and are VERY jealous. That is what's driving this. The NRA did NOT "carve out" an exemption for themselves. They wanted ALL 501C-3 organizations exempt. It WAS supposed to go down that way. Then Nancy Pelosi got wind of it and what came back from committee is what we have now and the NRA is STILL fighting that!!

The DISCLOSE Act is political duct tape for the mouths of all the critics of the incumbent liberals. They HAD the Campaign Finance Reform Law but the SCOTUS gutted that as they SHOULD HAVE. Now NRA and corporations can RESPOND in a timely manner to the LIES, DISTORTIONS and MISREPRESENTATIONS of the liberal Left.

They don't like that! They want all their opposition and critics muffled.
