Lawmakers are hearing arguments in Harrisburg on a 'self defense" bill, House Bill 40. This bill would restore the right to self defense by eliminating "the duty to retreat" and also expands the "Castle Doctrine". So far the bill has more than 100 co-sponsors.

"I visualize deaths in the streets all over the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania if they pass this," Bishop Kermit Newkirk of the Harold O. Davis Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia said.

"The concern I have there is proving that an individual was actually involved in illegal activity at the time," Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said.

Greaaaaatt, a preacher who can't read the newspaper and a DA who doesn't believe in the presumption of innocence. You know, all those bad guys are just waiting for guns to be legal enough so they can break the law against murder. Might as well increase parking fines near common homicide locations.

Not sure if this has a chance or not... I hope, and I am active in trying to help, but this could get squashed pretty easy. You can hope that there is a bill that the anti's need passed as a tool to insert and slide through...
