Like many fervent 2nd amendment advocates, I appreciate your posting of this article but take issue with bias of the referenced article. While the author may feel that there are underlying reasons the position that the MAIG may be pushing (as nothing concrete was mentioned in the article) he is as fervently opposed to what sounds like any modifications at all. His article is as much fear mongering as the way Cheney did what he did while in office.
Straight facts speak louder for our rights than fear tactics do. "What ifs" just don't cut it.

I doubt he's opposed to any modifications at all; it's just that the balance is tilted SO far in favor of infringement vs. liberty that the next 100 justified changes would have to be in the opposite direction to be acceptable. After those 100 changes favorable to us at the expense of our paid employees, then we can have a discussion on whether there are areas too loose that need tightening.

I read about the recommendations that MAIG sent to the administration several days ago. What MAIG said about the recommendations didn't sound too drastic although they are certainly taking aim at gun shows. However, what struck me as significant was that MAIG stated that they had no intention of making their recommendations public. That made me wonder what they were trying to keep quiet, what is really in the recommendations.
