SB585 banning gun shows at the Cow Palace and AB962 concerning ammo sales and storage are on the Governors desk awaiting his signature. Neither are good for gun owners but AB962 is the most outrageous in my opinion. This requires ammo purchasers to be finger printed and registered at the point of sale, bans mail order ammo sales, and regulates how ammo must be stored in stores. Saw this on NRA-ILA. Read more at link below and get link for E-Mail to Gov. Schwarzenegger. Gun owners from Ca. need to let the Gov. know what they think about this before he signs the bills.

Don't forget the 50 rounds a month limit. I'll go through 4 to 6 times that in one range session. The practice we all need to have to make sure that,in the event that we do need to defend ourselves, an innocent by stander doesn't become a casualty statistic. We all need that practice, no matter how good you are. That and all the revinue from the sales in state will shrink or go to Nevada and Oregon.

I think the 50 rounds a month is not a limit on how much ammo you can purchase but designed to allow small incidental transfers between individuals without having to comply with the regulations being imposed on professional vendors. IOW you can buy all you want and also transfer 50 rounds a month to another individual. Not that tracking the mainline sales is any of their business in the first place, but was just trying to clarify a fine point.

My understanding was a 50 rounds per month limit on purchasing handgun ammo. Not that i'm that worried about it, my family in Nevada sends me ammo gifts all the time anyways.
