We've seen reports indicating Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may be vulnerable in the 2010 election. Some of the challengers for his Nevada senate seat are actually out-polling him by significant margins. One of them, Danny Tarkanian, responded to my political questionnaire on the right to keep and bear arms, and we examined his responses on Wednesday. Then yesterday, we looked at competitor Sharron Angle's replies.

Both did well. Very well.

I know it's a Nevada race, but it's for the US Senate, and involves the majority leader to boot, so it becomes an issue of national interest.

Whatever their stance on 2nd Amendment issues isn't as important as just getting these long term politicians out of office. Not a single one should serve more than 4 years in a row without having to vacate for a minimum of 3 years. That is what our founding fathers envisioned in order to keep representation of the people and not special interests.

Since no one already there is going to support term limits, it is up to the voters to impose the will of our founding fathers by making sure that we turn over the Congress every 4 years - that not a single one of them gets to serve more than 4 years consecutively.

I think he's like a cat, probably has 9 political lives. Wouldn't it be nice if he were on his last one? The US Senate is the closest thing we have to royalty and I for one would like them to do what it is they're supposed to do. The Senators are supposed to represent the states in Washington, DC, not be some sort of "super congressman", trotting around the world acting like petty potentates.

Repeal the 17th Amendment. That would go a long way to restoring what you're talking about, and fix a bunch of other stuff at the same time.
