Confusion

I have noticed that several times I went to this site and saw that all of the forums were locked. I discovered that when you go to the site the forums are all locked but as soon as you log in the forums are unlocked. This is not the case on 1911.org. This may be confusing some members and may account for the lack of posts?

No, in both sites, the forums are locked. A non-member (i.e. a visitor) can not post either here or in M1911.ORG Forums Site. They can only read the forums. You need to be a registered member and logged in to post.

If you don't log out, when you return the forums will not be locked. If you log out, you are returning as a visitor and the forums will be locked until you sign in.
