CA - Ca., CWP and El Dorado Sheriff's Race

Sheriff's race is caught up in debate over issuance of CWP. Current policy requilres applicant to show cause in addition to training and background check. Fewer CWP's being issued and fewer being renewed over last several years.

I have no problem with them doing a background check and requiring some training. That good cause thing is just a way for them to deny applications to regular folks that just want to be able to leave their homes at night and have the ability to defend themselves.
