Thanks for setting up the site, John. There should be some interesting and lively conversation here. By the way, it looks like you've organized it well. It's clear you've put a lot of work into this. I hope it will be a success.

I'm on board, I try to keep up with the legal issues regarding firearm rights so this forum should help.

I will leave that one up to tech support. ;) It looks like you are trying to post multiple html's though and normally you can only use one at a time.

Hi there, first post here, congrats all around for making this happen!
I suppose there are still some birth issues to iron out, I can't select an avatar, and I see there is no SMS function available, but we can wait - it took me months until I figured out (i.e. John told me) what SMS is, anyway!

Actually the first one in my signature is just a tip of the hat where I got the quote. I try not to plagiarize when possible. I removed that one. The second one is my web blog. If that's a problem I will be glad to remove it also; anything to please the boss. LOL. :D

First of all that was not HTML that didn't work, it's called BB code. HTML is NOT allowed in here, so it will not work, anywhere. BB should work fine now.
Also, I uploaded some avatars for you to use, but you can also use your own custom avatar too by using a URL to an image hosted in your photobucket or other picture hosting server.

The option for custom avatars (as seen in the other forum) is missing.

No it is not, I just checked it. UserCP/Edit Avatar at the bottom, it allows you to enter the URL of a picture.

I still don't see it!
It's there on M1911.org, but not here!

I have experienced the same issue. There is no means to post a custom Avatar.

We seem to be gaining members slowly but surely.
Yep, I think we have a good thing going here.

And a spell check built in - Great Addition. Not that I can't get through some posts where super fast fingers leave a trail, but after years of Catholic school and journalism classes, I do find it more pleasurable to be able to read a post where the poster took the time to make sure it was spelled as correctly as possible. Thanks again for this site and I look forward to watching it grow.

I have my American Hertigage Dictionary right handy, because spellcheck can't figure out my typing.
Oh I get in wrong when I forget to preview post, etc. I even know proper grammer, well most of the time.
