At issue is whether ordinances enacted at local levels pre-empted or superseded state gun laws. The state constitution includes a pre-emption clause prohibiting local governments from creating their own gun laws.

But Gray said Tuesday that despite the legal concerns the need for stricter gun laws is undeniable.

Texas has the same provision, but Houston sometimes ignores the fact that the state over rules local..

We may be right , but when in trouble with the local authorities, one must retain a lawyer, court etc. in order to prevail...

Isn't it amazing that the cradle of Americn Society is the hub of some of the most pernicous, anti individual laws and sentiment in our country. Many of the original 13 Colonies are the center of the most abusive restrictions of liberty in our society. What has happened to the championing of individual liberties in these states? Oh, I know! It's "common sense" legislation regarding firearms. The problem is that these folks haven't had any common sense in years. Their high falutin' indoctrination at these prestigous universities took care of that. If you think about anything long enough, you can always rationalize doing something that is against you own best interests, "for your own good"....
