It has come to my attention that several of our members here do not respect the scope for which is forum is to be used. I believe (and hope) that this is done because of ignorance or because I didn't do a good work on clarifying what each forum is to be used for. For this reason, here are some clarifications:
US National Ownership forum is to be used when discussing a law or a political action which can affect the gun ownership in the entire US. It should not be used to discuss how NRA can or can not help gun owners. It can not be used to discuss how bad the Obama administration is. It can not be used to discuss the financial assistance given to financial institutions by the federal Government. It can not be used to discuss the legal ramifications of shooting a gang member who broke into your house. It can not be used to discuss if open carrying is allowed in Vermont. It can not be used to discuss anything else but gun ownership on a national level.
US Regional Ownership should be used to discuss specific laws or political actions which affect or can affect gun ownership in a regional level. By "regional" I mean either a State level or a county level or a city level. If the law you refer to affects ownership all over US, then use the National Ownership forum. Your thread should not be posted in here, if the law is not about gun ownership but about carrying, transporting or using a firearm. We have other forums for these issues. Again, each thread in here should refer to a specific law or political action, not about the Obama administration in general or about the Swartzeneger (is the spelling right) political beliefs.
The Carrying, Shipping and Transportation and Usage forums should be used for discussions about legal or political issues, which affect the carrying, the shipping or transporting and the usage of firearms. Again, refer to specific laws or political actions.
The "Other Political Issues" forum is to be discussed about firearms-related legal or political issues, which do not belong in any of the other forums in the Political Area. Do not use it if your subject is not firearms-related. Non-firearms-related discussions are NOT permitted in this site.
The "General Discussion" area is for discussing subjects which are not specific to a law or a political action. You can use that forum to discuss how good NRA is and how it helps gun owners. You can use that forum to post a joke. You can use that forum to discuss how much better Chevy trucks are over Ford's. You can use that forum to tell us how unfair was the cop who issued you a ticket for doing 80 mph in a 30 mph zone. But please do not use it for anything legal or political related to guns and firearms.
