I've heard a lot lately about 90% of firearms used for criminal acts in Mexico come from the U.S. Just another misrepresentation to gain support for another assult weapons ban.

Great link you beat me to it. I believe that the real number lies around 7-12%.

Why would they pay our prices on EBR's when they can get many of them for free and many others at a fraction of the cost that they would pay here.

I am often amazed at how often people just believe what they are told without doing the research to find the data to back it up.

The ATF probably only sees about 3-5% of the weapons seized. The rest don't have serial numbers and many end up back in the hands of the cartels.........

Did I mention that you always see and here them shooting the ones with the "happy" switch. They usually are not sold at your local Cabellas ;)

Why would a Mexican drug dealer buy semi auto weapons, one at a time in Texas when they can buy full auto weapons that are imported from places like Central America, China and Europe on the black market by the case lot? Make no mistake, these weapons are not purchased legally in the US and then brought back across the border for use. The public and the media in general, know almost nothing about firearms and how to get them. The people that report on this, don't know what they are talking about and are the source of information for the uninformed.

If word doesn't get out on this, laws will be passed to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

I think the word is starting to get out! It starts with each of "us" to make sure that it is out there. :D

I believe Zogby did a survey on this subject, if I remember correctly from Guntalk radio. According to the survey, only 20% or so of Americans believe the myth that 90% of weapons confiscated from Mexican cartel members come from the U.S. It's nice to know that we aren't as gullible as the media wishes we were.

Exactly, no point. However, bear in mind that the same may not be true for ammunition, which is typically more expensive in the black market than that from legal sources. Maybe that is an area that you guys need to pay attention on, so that no pointless laws may be enacted regarding the sale of ammunition.

I believe that to become a journalist or an upper level executive in any news reporting group or company one must pass an aptitude test to prove that you have no aptitude or capacity for common sense.

There's no reason to worry about that in the US because there's no ammunition left!! :D

The Obamunists in power have the frightened good citizens to buy up ammunition, components, and equipment to the point where it is difficult to find. :(

There was an interesting video posted on M1911.org a few months ago, showing an al-fresco gun market in Pakistan... not exactly Wall-Mart, but pretty comprehensive!

Khyber Pass has quite a population of gunsmiths. They build AK's for next to nothing and build a very wide variety of weaponry. I have some cool pics of some of their builds........

The funny part is that they don't want to use their own builds and prefer Chinese and Russians. I guess you could say they are gun snobs. :D :D :D
