The Alaska House on Thursday voted 32-7 in favor of the "Alaska Firearms Freedom Act " sponsored by Fairbanks Republican Mike Kelly with 10 Co-Sponsors.

Mike Kelly says the measure will permit Alaska to opt out of federal regulation, including interstate commerce laws utilized to regulate firearms.

Guns, ammo and accessories manufactured in Alaska would be exempt, but would have to stay within the state.

Good job Alaska! I'm happy to know that like Montana they are actively finding alternate ways to legally challenge federal gun restrictions.

Seems to be a trend lately. Kudos to the "civil servants" for stepping up to the plate and protecting the rights of the people that they serve.

The list thus far, includes Alaska, Montana and Texas! A land area that is a large portion of the USA. I am sure that States more will follow suit ! The driving forces are two major issues, Guns and Taxes.

I would also expect to see more of this as our government continues to trample state rights and effect the lively hood of those states.
